군사통치 하에서는 시민적, 정치적 권리가 폐지되고, 의회가 해산되었으며, 1인 통치가 시행되었으며, 인권이 노골적으로 침해되었습니다.

국제앰네스티에 따르면 전체적으로 체포 영장 없이 대부분 7만 명이 체포됐고, 3만4천 명이 고문을 당했으며, 3,240명이 군과 경찰에 의해 살해됐습니다.

On this day 51 years ago, dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr. placed the country under martial law — remembered by many Filipinos as one of the darkest chapters in Philippine history.

Under military rule, civil and political rights were abolished, Congress was dissolved, a one-man rule was imposed, and human rights were blatantly violated.

In total, 70,000 people were arrested, mostly arbitrarily without warrants of arrest, 34,000 people were tortured, and 3,240 others were killed by the military and police, according to Amnesty International.
